BlindSpot removes the friction of dating apps while keeping concrete safety steps in your hands. You meet in a public venue, you choose in private, and only a mutual yes turns into a connection. This guide explains what that means in practice.
Your number stays yours
BlindSpot never shares your phone number with another participant. A connection appears in the app only when you and the other person have both indicated interest. Until then, no contact details are exchanged and no one can message you. If a connection is revoked later, the prior contact exchange is removed.
Use the block and report controls at any time. Reporting creates a safety case that only assigned safety reviewers can see; the person you reported is not notified.
In-person safety
Every event is held at a licensed public venue with other guests present. There is no host on site from BlindSpot; our support team is remote and reachable through the app or the support channel on the event page.
Before the evening:
- Read the venue's published accessibility and arrival notes on your event page.
- Save the venue address and the venue's emergency contact (posted at the venue) to your phone.
- Plan to arrive during the check-in window so you can settle in before the first round.
If something at the venue — the route, the seating, or the noise — does not match the published information, pause before the evening starts and contact support. You can leave at any time.
During the evening
Each round is short and structured. You can use the prompt on your phone, skip it, or steer the conversation elsewhere. If a conversation ever feels unsafe or uncomfortable:
- End the round politely and tap the help button in the app. A remote support team member can end the round early and open a safety case.
- After the round, use block or report. This works anonymously from the other participant's perspective and never reveals that you took the action.
The app does not show another participant's private preferences or decisions. A participant's no is never shared with them.
After the evening
If you received a connection, you can message through the app before deciding whether to exchange contact details. Contact exchange is a separate consent step — it is never automatic. If you did not connect, no one is told, and your decision stays private.
If you experienced something that made you feel unsafe, report it through the app or the support channel. BlindSpot support is remote; in an emergency or immediate danger, call local emergency services first.
